Open Hearth PDC Apprenticeship

4/5/2019 – 10/19 2019 | ~ 1 Saturday & Wednesday a month

Spring Germination Immersion Retreat

Philadelphia Community Farm / Buttermilk Falls CSA – Osceola, WI

We will begin our program together with a Spring farm stay weekend retreat amongst the woods & waterfalls. This experience creates an opportunity to connect with one another, enjoy the wild and take a deep dive into the vast world of Permaculture, setting the stage for what we will be learning throughout this journey.

2nd Annual Sacred Earth Festival

6/29-6/30 @ Organic Compound – Faribault, MN

Join our PDC cohort, partners & friends to celebrate the summer solstice and our beautiful earth, we are grateful to gather in the spirit of community, be together among our healing plant allies & share skills for building regenerative lifestyles.

Field Days

locations on average up to 1hr from Twin Cities

About once a month, our days in the field will consist of traveling throughout MN & WI to explore and learn from others in a variety of unique experiences and perspectives. Our program takes the approach of an Open Source Learning model as we tap into people, their skills & the culture of our region, inviting all to share their experience and tell their stories through tours and hands-on projects. Carpools will be strongly encouraged and can be arranged when needed.

“The farm visits were incredibly inspiring and a wonderful break from the rhythms of living in a city.” – Jack

Studio Nights

in the Twin Cities

Once a month, we will join together in Minneapolis to integrate our learning experiences from the field days, have discussion, catch up with each other, host guests, and provide classroom studio time for our projects.

Autumn Harvest Potluck

in the Twin Cities

The culminating harvest of our program, we will gather in community to enjoy a feast and celebrate the work & play of our season together.

“I enjoyed most the wide variety of sites and people we visited. Getting the opportunity to ask questions, listen to the stories and work alongside the people who are breathing and sweating for an abundant future was invaluable. Also, the smallness of the Open Hearth crew made the learning process more intimate; I imagine years-long friendships coming out of this season of growth together. ” – Armel
